It’s no secret that racial tensions in today’s society are almost at an all time high. With controversial police arrests and shootings, Black Lives Matter protests, and racially charged figure heads like Al Sharpton spreading their agenda, it’s no wonder that we’re in the situation we’re in.
Sadly, all of this has resulted in the horrific scenes we just saw in Dallas where multiple police officers lost their lives due to a racially charged crime.
And in that moment of tragedy, enter Tomi Lahren. Tomi is a political commentator for the Blaze who in her words tweeted something out in a moment of anger (as she currently lives in Dallas, where the police shooting took place).
Here’s what she had to say about Black Lives Matter in a tweet that has since been deleted.
“Meet the new KKK, they call themselves ‘Black Lives Matter’ but make no mistake their goals are far from equality. #Dallas #bluelivesmatter.”
And she’s definitely catching a lot of heat for it, most notably on social media (especially Twitter), where some users are asking for The Blaze (her employer) to fire her for making the comparison. But it doesn’t stop there.
While on a CNN panel discussing various topics centered around Black Lives Matter, she came head to head with Baltimore Sun media critic, David Zurawik.
You can watch the exchange below (it starts around the six minute mark). Lahren defends and even stands by her comments, saying that while she tweeted that out in a moment of anger, she spoke the honest truth, and that’s why people are pissed off.
Whose side are you on? Did she go too far or is there some truth to what she’s saying?
